Fairfax County Police confirmed they responded to a swatting call at Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s Virginia home Wednesday night after someone called in a false report of gunshots — with the dispatcher warning responding officers that a high priority resident lived there and that the call could be fake.
Officers immediately coordinated with Supreme Court Police security personnel assigned to the residence and quickly determined the report was completely fictitious — but the incident marks yet another attempt to intimidate a conservative justice on the nation’s highest court. The incident comes amid years of escalating threats against Supreme Court justices — and this time someone targeted a mother of seven in her own home at nine o’clock at night. This is not politics anymore. This is someone trying to terrorize a woman in front of her children — and the person who made that call needs to be found.
