One of Hollywood’s few genuine icons, Clint Eastwood, has long favoured letting his art do the talking. However, the legendary actor and director recently acknowledged in a private and open moment that he’s ready for some aspects of his career to end. Eastwood, who is 95 years old, claims that although he still enjoys creating films, he has become more picky about the assignments he accepts.

Eastwood claims that he wants to terminate things on his own terms, which is the main reason he is thinking about leaving. He clarified that he didn’t want anyone but himself to force him into retirement or slow down. He believes he has nothing more to prove after more than 60 years in the spotlight, just the will to make a decision when the time comes.

Eastwood also acknowledged that as he has aged, the long, hard days on set have become more difficult. He claimed that although his enthusiasm hasn’t diminished, the physical strain has changed and that he doesn’t want his last piece to suffer as a result of pushing himself too hard. It is crucial to him to end his career when he is still smart, powerful, and proud of what he does.

Nevertheless, Eastwood is still appreciative of his generations-long fan base. Although he hasn’t formally bid Hollywood farewell yet, he wants people to know why he is considering it. As he put it, “Everything has its time—and I want to make sure mine ends the right way.
