President Trump postponed the signing of his administration’s highly anticipated AI executive order just hours before it was set to take place — walking into the Oval Office and telling reporters he killed it because he didn’t like certain aspects of it.
He said America is leading China and every other country on artificial intelligence right now and he was not going to sign anything that could get in the way of that lead — calling the order a potential blocker of American dominance. Every other president would have signed the paper and moved on. Trump read it one more time, decided it was wrong and walked away from his own ceremony. Whether you love him or hate him — nobody does it quite like this.
