For decades, Tom Selleck was one of television’s most familiar faces — first as Thomas Magnum on Magnum, P.I., and later as Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods. But after Blue Bloods ended in 2024, his everyday life changed dramatically.
Selleck has made no secret of how difficult saying goodbye was. He recently revealed that the Blue Bloods cast had even accepted a 25% pay cut in an effort to keep the beloved series going. “Everybody wanted to come back,” he recalled while discussing the show’s final days.
But don’t mistake his quieter chapter for retirement. At 81, Selleck is returning to television as host, narrator and executive producer of the upcoming true-crime series Crime and Justice With Tom Selleck. He’s also left the door open to other possibilities, including more Jesse Stone.
After more than 50 years in Hollywood, Tom Selleck’s life may look different today — but he’s clearly not finished yet.
