Before Marrying RFK Jr., She Was Already a Big Screen Legend

While many today recognize Cheryl Hines as the supportive spouse standing alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., her rise to fame began decades before her entry into the political spotlight.

Long before navigating high-profile campaigns and life in Washington, Hines earned her place as a beloved Hollywood mainstay. She rose to prominent fame starring as Larry David’s long-suffering wife, Cheryl, on HBO’s critically acclaimed hit comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm—a role that earned her two Primetime Emmy nominations. Ironically, it was Larry David himself who first introduced Hines to Kennedy at a fundraising event in 2011.

Beyond television comedy, Hines built an extensive portfolio across film and directing, starring in sitcoms like Suburgatory and making her directorial debut with the film Serious Moonlight.

Though her marriage to Kennedy in 2014 thrust her into one of America’s most storied political dynasties, Hines remains, at her core, a powerhouse veteran of American television and cinema.
