The House voted to table a resolution to censure Ilhan Omar by just one single vote — 214 to 213 — after four Republicans broke ranks and voted with Democrats to block the measure that would have removed her from two major committees.
The resolution introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace would have censured Omar and stripped her of her seats on the Education and Workforce Committee and the Budget Committee over comments she made following the death of Charlie Kirk. One vote. That is all that stood between Ilhan Omar keeping her committees and losing everything — and the four Republicans who crossed the aisle to save her are now facing fury from their own party that is only just beginning.
