Mike Pence appeared on Face The Nation Sunday and said what he has been holding back for months — that there has clearly been an effort by some to rewrite the history of January 6th — telling anchor Margaret Brennan he was personally offended when the White House published a timeline that literally blamed Capitol Police for the riot that took place that day.
He said he is confident in the judgment of history about his role and the role of every Republican and Democrat who returned to the Capitol after police secured the building and did their duty under the Constitution — and that he does not expect the rewriting to work. Mike Pence was there. He knows exactly what happened. And yesterday he decided the whole country needed to hear him say it out loud one more time.
