Penélope Cruz revealed at Cannes this morning that during the production of her new film she received a warning from her doctor that she may have a brain aneurysm — and instead of stopping, instead of telling anyone, she waited for medical clearance and showed up the next day and performed the scene anyway without saying a word to the directors until it was over.
That scene is now part of a film that received a 20-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival last night — one of the longest in the festival’s history.
